Character Name: Luludja Lala De Ravin
Age: 25
History (just a paragraph about your character):
Luludja Lala De Ravin was born on the eve of the 31st of October in the year 1984 to Asher and Nadya Esmeralda De Ravin. But the story doesn’t start there. No, rewind the clocks to the year 1971. Then Nadya was Nadya Esmeralda Dementieva, a part of a traveling band of gypsies. She not only grew up in the lifestyle, she was born into it. They had traveled all throughout Russia and finally after years there, her family, along with the rest, left Russia. Their travels spanned much of Europe and the surrounding areas. They made money with their Circus and Sideshows. Esmeralda’s fame came not only from her natural ability towards the high wire but from her clairvoyance and psychometry. She was a fortuneteller as well for many years and because of those abilities, one of the best. It was their trip to America that changed her life. She met Asher De Ravin on a crisp fall day in September in New Orleans, Louisiana. Their lives were forever changed the moment they met. Though Nadya could not know her own future she knew that this man would forever change the path of her life. That he was an important path she would embark on. That intuition proved true as the two became instantly inseparable. Four years and a few months later they were married on December 20, 1975 and eight years after their union, they were blessed with the beautiful little girl.
Luludja was a bubbly child with an explorative streak about her. An inquisitive child who wanted to know everything and see everything. She had a nose for adventure and a knack for mischief. She was one of those who weren’t afraid to go up to just about anyone. She met everyone with a smile and a barrage of questions. There seemed not a shy bone in the girl’s body. She would talk to everyone. She even had a knack for talking to animals. It was her belief that animals knew what you were saying, that they had their own way of talking, you just had to listen close enough and you could hear it. Her mother and her Gran (from her father’s side) had been happy to see that she had the gifts of both her heritages. On her mothers side as a Gypsy she had the same ability of her mother only hers was a stronger clairvoyance, one that would lead to her wearing gloves and the like. On her father’s side, she took to the practices of voodoo quite quickly. This naturally pleased her Gran greatly. Her parents had been so happy that they didn’t see the storm coming. Nadya with her abilities could have seen it coming, but because Lulu was of her flesh and blood she could not see into her future, she could get bits and pieces but nothing else. Only in viewing her daughters past could she see with absolute clarity. Lulu was pulled from her middle school in the eighth grade and placed into an Asylum. She was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder and it was deemed that she had ‘delusions’ regarding a neighbor of hers and a friend's (Melody) father. These ‘delusions’ were later found to be actual repressed memories, thus making them seem that they were ‘delusions’.
With her disorder she attempted suicide within the Asylum a total of three times. These were times when she was deep into a period of depression. While in the Asylum her actual self and her alter ego… A Victorian girl named Amelia in an asylum for girls melded together and became one personality instead of two separate personalities. It is because of this she tends more towards the Victorian style dress. Though some would think she would end up going by Amelia at times that is not true. Her personality has just melded to give Lulu the quirks people have come to love. It is also one of the reasons her home she chose was an old Victorian with a wrought iron gate. Once entering two large Gargoyle statues stand to either side of the stairs leading up onto her porch. Lulu is very proud to call New Orleans home and would see herself living in no other place. She works the random jobs one at a voodoo shop and the other at Ye Olde Dungeon. It is one of her favorite places not only to venture to, but also to work. When she isn’t waitressing she is dancing in cyber Goth attire atop one of the many platforms. Lulu even keeps in touch with her friend Melody every now and then. Though Melody has been taken to a Rehabilitation Center for her addiction to Sex (something brought on by her father molesting her). Lulu makes it a note to visit her and even shares her experience in the group sessions. She has found this to be helpful to not only Mel but to her as well. It has even brought them closer now talking about it together and finding that they both blamed each other when it was neither at fault.

The clear distinct sound of a violin carried through the air. A beautiful sound one-minute and a haunting sound the next. LuLu played with a talent that wasn’t seen anywhere else. She had been accepted into Julliard but because she was within the walls of the Asylum, she had no way to pursue her dream. It was something that both saddened her and comforted her. She would have felt so out of place, a Gypsy among Royals, literally. No she would rather like knowing that she was good enough. That something prestigious as Julliard would welcome her within its walls. She also knew that they didn’t care where she came from or what she was, it was her playing that guaranteed her admittance into such a place, for they cared not for the person behind the talent. The bow flew across the strings with such a practiced vigor even as she twirled and danced about the cemetery. This was her sacred place. This was her chosen audience. She graced the dead every night with one of her performances. Though most would wonder why she would chose such a place, only Lulu knew why.
See it was because she could see the shades standing around the area in awe of her while she played. She looked a Victorian musician as she danced about. In the style of her dress it was no surprise that those from that century did not find them selves confused when in her presence, those that weren’t aware of the century change that is. Those that knew of it the spirits that could leave the cemetery, the ones that weren’t confined to their era thought her a most enlightening confudlement. Her eyes were closed for the moment while she swayed in place. Her whole body thrummed with the music. If one where listening on, they would think someone was playing an electric guitar, but in fact it was an electric violin. The clarity in the sound that emanated from the violin was crisp and clear, a precise sound. Her arm flew with vigor as the bow flew across the strings. The music was both haunting and beautiful at the same time. Before it switched suddenly.
Suddenly the music was soft and airy. A light sound pleasant to the ears it fell upon. This new song caused a smile upon many of the pale transparent faces watching her. She smiled knowing this pleased many. She always ended with something that would be pleasant to them. And just as they appeared to her, one by one each of them began to fade from her sight. They only appeared to her for a little while before fading away. She knew they were still there but she would not be able to see them. They took what energy they could from her battery power amp and then left. Though small, the amp hooked to her skirt at the back, the sound emanated from the violin with such clarity. Unlike a guitar it came more from inside the violin than from the amp it self.
