Dark-Hunters:
The Dark-Hunters were created by Artemis, the Greek Goddess. They give their souls over to her to become immortal and protect the humans. There is only one person capable of getting them out of their predicament and it's called the 'out-clause'. Long story short, the specified person has to kill the Dark-Hunter and bring them back to life by holding their burning soul against the place where Artemis took it from. It is identified by a brand-like mark that is a double bow and arrow.
When Artemis takes a soul, the one it was taken from is allowed exactly 24 hours to take revenge on the ones that had done them wrong. Then they will protect.
Her first Dark-Hunter, Acheron, was pretty much a template for the rest of them. he is the strongest and has lived for 11,000 years. Usually, two or more Dark-Hunters being near each other at once would drain them. But Ash(Acheron) is their trainer and teacher and has no effect on their powers... Though he is intimidating.
Dark-Hunters cannot let daylight touch them, even if the sun isn't out. It will burn them to a pile of dust. They have powers such as telekinesis and controlling the elements. But, if the Dark-Hunter is killed for the second time(yes, second) they will roam the world without a soul forever and never cross into the afterlife. This is called Shadedom.
When training with Ash is complete, the new Dark-Hunter is sent to some part of the world to protect the humans from Daimons. Artemis pays them well for their service, and if they choose, they can hire a mortal- called a Squire.
A Squire is a mortal that learns all of the secrets of the Hunters. Sometimes the job is passed from one generation to the next. Every Squire has to pass a test designed by Artemis to see if they are worthy...
Appearance:
While still containing the looks they lived with as a human, the Dark-Hunters gained fangs and light-sensitive eyes like the Daimons which they kill. Also, their eyes are black, extremely light sensitive, and each Dark-Hunter has a double-bow-and-arrow mark somewhere on their body. They are tall. Artemis has a thing for tall people- don't ask.
Weaknesses:
The Dark-Hunter Code:
Honor Artemis. Drink no blood. Harm no human or Apollite. Never touch a Squire. Speak with no family or friends who knew you before you died. Let no Daimon escape alive. Never speak of what you are. You walk alone. Keep your bow mark hidden.
The Dark-Hunter Creed:
We are Darkness. We are Shadow.
We are the Rulers of the Night.
We, alone, stand between mankind and those who would see mankind destroyed. We are the Guardians.
The Soulless Keepers.
Our souls were cast out so that we would not forewarn the Daimons we pursue. By the time they see us coming, it's too late.
The Daimons and Apollites know us. They fear us. We are death to all those who prey upon the humans.
Neither Human, nor Apollite, we exist beyond the realm of the Living, beyond the realm of the Dead.
We are the Dark-Hunters.
And we are eternal.

Weaknesses:
- Sunlight

- Dismemberment
- Piercing their double bow and arrow mark. But no one knows this aside from Acheron and Artemis.
